Stolen Bonsai

Just cut and Pasted this from Mike’s ‘Bonsai Passion’ Blog. Some toe-rag somewhere in the UK has this.

STOLEN BONSAI

Korean Hornbeam stolen overnight at the Bath and West garden show. This fine Bonsai belongs to John Trott, aka Mendip Bonsai.
Please do get in touch if you believe you have any knowledge of its whereabouts, or indeed if you hear anything that may assist John to recover his tree. I have included a picture below for reference purposes.

It's time to check wired trees

With summer approaching it is now time to check all the trees that were wired earlier in spring.
My Larches and maples have put on sufficient growth for wire to start biting in, so wire needs to be removed to prevent scarring.  I generally advice to cut the wire rather than try to unwind it.

So windy

At the moment it seems all I do is watering.  This windy weather is really drying out the pots, especially the little shohin and mame bonsai need water up to three times a day.
I am trying to keep my maples (and Hornbeams)sheltered from the wind to prevent leaf burn.
Lets hope for some nice calm sunny days soon.

Chinese Elm Tanuki Update

It's nearly a year now since I started this little tanuki from a cutting.  The video shows how the tree is doing and gives an outline to further development.
Enjoy!

Bonsai Stolen in the Yorkshire Area

Bonsai stolen in the Yorkshire area. Please follow the link below to the Internet Bonsai Club for further details. Giving exposure such as this makes these trees much harder to move. Please … if anyone thinks they may be able to help recover them, contact the owner (details on linked thread).
Please clickHERE
Please do consider getting your Bonsai security chipped. I realise this does not prevent them being stolen but does make identification easier.
